Amaryllis - Flaming Striped

This variety of Amaryllis has white petals with red stripes.

Make sure the pot is placed in a bright spot where it gets plenty of warmth and light. It won’t need much water until you see the new green shoot has grown a few inches at which point you can start to water it weekly. Avoid the stem bending towards the light source by turning the pot every few days. 

Growing your Amaryllis bulb again

• When the flowers fade, you can cut them off then a little later cut the stem back to about one inch from the neck of the bulb.
• Foliage will grow throughout the following spring and summer until it dies back, at which point you stop watering it.
• after the summer place the bulb in a cool, dry, dark cupboard for 8 weeks and bring it out when you are ready to start all over again.
• Re-pot in new potting compost and watch it grow again.
