Originating from the drier regions of South America, this impressive cactus is noted for its long, sharp spines (hence its common name The Toothpick Cactus), which act as a defence against grazing animals in their native environment. It will reach over 20ft in the wild and is a slow grower.
Water all cacti thoroughly during the spring and summer growing months. Never allow to sit in water for prolonged periods. Prefers direct sun, ideal in a bright window or conservatory.
Sold in a 20cm plastic nursery pot and approx 70cm high.
